Beautiful, smart workspace. For your new detective read/watch, try the Brother Cadfael novels by Ellis Peters, medieval history plus wonderful writing. And there are 20 of them. Enjoy! There is an 8-part TV series (on Amazon Prime and BritBox) starring Derek Jacobi, who is excellent, of course, but it’s well worth reading the books first.
Can’t wait to get more of you and Samin. I love me some Avery Trufelman so bring it on!! And, if there’s any chance you haven’t watched it yet, check out “The Residence” with Uzo Aduba. It’s a crime that it was canceled after one season. P.S. TWWW Book Club misses you! Coco!!
congratulations on the TIME mentions(ssssss)! i'm sure you've seen it but i think Deadloch had the perfect balance of detective + funny. and the original Columbo episodes are satisfying (and on Tubi) also sort of Angelino historical
I really didn't think I cared about your audio/computer equipment at all. Yet somehow this is possibly my all-time favorite issue of Accept Cookies. You are such an excellent writer.
Also, I need more info about Dept Q. I'm not really into crime dramas, but I LOVED Lupin (and The Queen's Gambit). Would I like this one?
I'm watching The Last Detective on Prime (maybe it's Britbox, on Prime?). It's a little outdated but I'm really loving it. Much gentler and slower moving than Dept Q.
Congrats! I was excited to see Home Cooking and Song Exploder on the top 100 podcasts list!
8 more episodes of Home Cooking!?!?!? Yahoo! Lucky us!

I loved The Residence! I didn't know (and can't believe) it was canceled – it just got a bunch of Emmy nominations.
Except, having been through the Netflix ringer, I actually can believe it.
Yup…they announced it early July. I may have tweeted a well thought out WTF message to Netflix when I heard. 😂
DEADLOCH! AMAZING detective show from Australia.
oh man, thank you for the recommendation! I watched the first season over this past week and LOVED it.

Susie, I hadn't seen Deadloch, but now I have, and you were 100% right! It was fantastic!
Love the UA gear (I’m partial since my partner is an audio algorithm engineer for them) such cool stuff they’re putting out!
this was fascinating! :) and has me now looking around my desk, wondering how I'd write about it.
Tell us about it!

This layout was so visually pleasing, the whole space was so calming! Also Dept Q was so good, I think it was one of the best Netflix shows ever.

love Avery's work and so excited about this!
OMG it looks like @thatpoetrything but way better
