Here are some gifts I’d recommend this holiday if you were looking for the perfect present for a very specific type of person—someone with exceptional yet understated taste.
This was so helpful and a fun, quick read, thanks! My partner has been wanting to get into more physical media, but I think I’m allergic to researching gear or technology. Your audio/music/podcast expertise leads me to an immediate “I’d trust that rec” haha. Thank you!
This is a fantastic list, and I am delighted that you mentioned Ghosts of Tsushima! I love that it is based on a historical event, and I can't wait to play it again on the hardest setting. I can't wait to play the sequel!
In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, I was thinking of gifting family members nature-based things you can "adopt," like I don't know, an old tree? A whale? Something that could give you fun updates, which feels better than sending them physical junk. If anyone knows of organizations that do that well, let me know :)
I Love It
I’m surprised someone didn’t leave their shipping address in the post for those of us in a giving mood. 🥰 Happy Holidays, Hrishi!

I've always wanted a record player, but I was confused about how much to spend and what to look for. This is great! Thank you! <3 <3 <3
I'm also thinking about getting into coffee and am very drawn to this super cool subscription service: https://www.yesplz.coffee/
They just send you beans, you don't have to have intense coffee knowledge or opinions.
My friend Raihan who is a deep coffee nerd (professionally) recommended this!
Love a super specific list - it's a gift in an of itself.
I take at face value any mention of a study that shows positive outcomes from drinking coffee, as an excuse to keep drinking coffee.
I have the USB version of the AT-LP60 with an upgraded stylus. And I really enjoy the sound quality the few times per year I use it.
I also vouch for movies and tv series on blue ray or dvd if you must. Same as buying books beats ebooks with DRM.
if you really want to go nuts on coffee, I have been buying the espresso version of this advent calendar for the past four years and it is an absolute delight: https://19grams.coffee/products/kaffee-adventskalender-filter
They were my favorite local café in Berlin and I couldn’t be happier that they ship internationally and I can still get my Adventskalender in MA.
And if you wait until after the holidays, you can generally get one at a steep discount!

Yes! Check out Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. You can adopt orphaned elephants, rhinos, giraffes… 😭 https://www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/
